You think theatre is only for the sophisticated? Used to being hushed at and worried that your kids won’t be able to sit still? Clearly you’ve never seen a British panto before! Worry not! During these very days, BATS Theatre is preparing a panto for January 2025 - right here in Stavanger - just as we’ve done for almost 40 years!

In the chaotic kingdom of Camelot, King Arthur is less "legendary hero" and more "well-meaning klutz." While his overbearing mum, Dame Pendragon, schemes to marry him off, Arthur juggles training his round-ish table of misfit knights and dodging the villainous affections of Morgause, an evil sorceress with an eye for power. Add in a dragon-loving damsel with dreams of adventure, her sassy servant Miss LED, and a castle full of hilarity, and you’ve got a recipe for pandemonium!

Packed with cheeky banter, slapstick comedy, and a sprinkling of audience participation, Arthur and the Knights of the Round-ish Table is a madcap romp through mistaken identities, daring rescues, and, of course, plenty of panto silliness. Expect catchy songs, outrageous costumes, and a story where the underdogs just might save the day (or at least bumble their way to glory). It’s classic panto fun for the whole family!
