FAR AND THE REST OF THE FAMILY
Family always comes first. This family always comes second, at least when it comes to most of the improv competitions we have participated in. Anyways, that’s not important right now. Far and the rest of the family is a group of experienced improvisers doing short-form improv just the way you like your family get-togethers: a night full of weird people, dry cakes, cheap wine, and drier puns.
If your family is weird, you will soon find out that this family is even weirder.
SHOWCASE: LEAN INTO YOUR FEMININITY
We all have masculine and feminine energies within us. Unfortunately, playing feminine/femme characters has been reduced to tropes/ the punchline. The feminine helps you uncover your innate intuition, allowing you to play characters that are nurturing, gentle, warm and empathetic - without being a pushover.
In this showcase, participants from the workshop ‘Lean into your femininity’ by Balasree Viswanathan take their newfound feminine powers onstage, and show us how to portray subtler and more nuanced characters.
