Meg Harris Williams: «The caesura of the birth and the primordial conflicts”

This seminar considers how the conflicts that are aroused around the birth of a new baby inform us about the origins of thinking processes. Material from both infant observation (Negri & Harris) and phantasies about birth from the baby's point of view (Bion and Meltzer) are included in the discussion. Om foredragsholderen: Meg Harris Williams er forfatter og foredragsholder innen litteratur og psykoanalyse. Hun har også bakgrunn som billedkunstner. Hun foreleser og underviser internasjonalt, og mange av hennes bøker er oversatt til andre språk. Hun er gjesteforeleser på Tavistock-klinikken i London, er «Honorary Member of the Psychoanalytic Center of California» og redaktør av «The Harris Meltzer Trust». Meg Harris Williams skrev også manus til to filmer basert på Bions selvbiografiske skrifter: «Memoir of the future» og «The Becoming room». Meg Harris Williams er datter av Martha Harris, og Donald Meltzer er hennes stefar. Meg Harris Williams’ forfatterskap inneholder blant annet The Apprehension of Beauty, som hun skrev sammen med sin stefar, Donald Meltzer, og som ble utgitt i 1988.
