Workshop for midwives, student midwives, doulas and other birthworkers.

At this workshop you will learn holistic techniques ( acupressure and moxibustion) to use with your pregnant & labouring clients. These effective techniques are an invasive-free way of offering pain-relief, and also enhancing labour.

Moxibustion is a treatment that involves the burning of a herb (artemisia vulgaris) close to the skin to induse a warming sensation. It may correct breech presentation less painfully than external cephalic version. Moxibustion is traditional Chinese Medicine. From a Western medical perspective, moxibustion encourages the release of hormones like placental estrogen and prostaglandins, preparing the body for childbirth.

Acupressure has been practiced for thousands of years within Traditional Chinese Medicine. Instead of needles (acupuncture) acupressure requires physical pressure to specific points on the body.

Loredana Zordan is an Independent midwife and freelance midwifery teacher. She completed a BsC in Midwifery and a Master Degree at King's College and City University of London and is a certified acupuncturist specialized in obstetric acupuncture.

Loredana teachers workshops nationally and internationally for midwives and birthworkers on the use of acupressure for pregnancy and birth. Since introducing the workshop in Italy, many hospitals are introducing acupressure for labour preparation, induction of labour and for pain relief.

Partisipants can buy a signed copy of her book at a discount after the workshop.
