Turbeskrivelse

We started on a grey autumn morning from Oslo by taking the train to Asker (1 extra zone). From there we found our way out of the city, along the main road, then between fields. Soon we arrived to the beautiful Semsvann, and spent some time admiring the perfect reflections (as there was absolutely no wind).

From there we went through a farm, found the marked trail again, and started the climb up to the hills. It was moderately steep, and went through a really nice forest. There are two look-out points marked on the map, close to the trail, they are well worth the detours, as they provide beautiful panorama over Oslofjord.

Then the road descends to Store Sandungen, where we saw some horses drinking far away. A bit further from the lake we made a campfire (everything was very damp, so it was not easy), had some sausages with the sandwiches, then set out to climb up to Hovdehytta.

I mistook the markings on my map, and we ended up on a winter trail, which was good for a while, but later it went through a big swamp. There we had to dive into the forest, without any tracks, but finally, with the help of the GPS we found the (nor dry) track again. From there we soon arrived to Hovdehytta.

The cabin is really nice and after having lit the fire, very cozy. The three matrasses in the loft require some exercising to reach, but it was pleasantly warm up there, and comfortable.

The morning greeted us with stunningly sunny weather and beautiful panoramas, right from the front door.
