MIGREL, a VID research group, warmly invites you to an enchanting evening at Sølvberget (the Silver Mountain) in the heart of Stavanger, for an exploration of peace and hope through the universal language of poetry and storytelling.
In a world swirling in turbulent storms, where we can struggle to see the horizon between crashing waves, how could we hold on to the precious moments of tranquillity and glimmers of hope? In this Autmn edition, we welcome you to a temporary shelter of quiet reflection, where we come together to draw on the rich tapestry of our diverse cultures and faiths, to seek that thing with feathers- /that perches in the soul.
Hosted by our storyteller-in-residence Ivar Nygaard.
All are welcome!
Format: Each performer will briefly introduce themselves and the piece they are bringing on stage, followed by a short performance of poetry, prose, song, or segment of plays on the theme. Original work is encouraged, but presentations of old or newly published work by others are also welcomed.
Language: We welcome performances in all dialects and languages, but the introduction to each performance will be in English.
MIGREL stands for Migration, Religion, and Intercultural Relations. We are an active and unique research group of faculty members and postgraduate students at VID exploring a wide range of topics at the nexus of these three fields. The Intercultural Poetry Evening is an extension of the group that is open for all.
