Phoenix Musical Theatre present the musical Annie.
During the Great Depression in 1933, Annie and several other orphans live under the tyrannical thumb of Miss Hannigan in the Hudson Street Orphanage in New York City. Annie believes her parents left her there by mistake. When a rich man, Oliver Warbucks decides to let an orphan live at his home to promote his image, Annie is selected. While Annie gets used to living at a Mansion, she still longs for her parents. A search is announced with a huge reward which brings out many frauds.
Annie is based on "Little Orphan Annie" by permission of the Tribune Media Services Inc. Book by Thomas Meehan, Music by Charles Strouse, Lyrics by Martin Charnin. This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International. All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI (www.mtishows.co.uk)
