Blithe Spirit

Come and join Charles Condomine and his second wife, Ruth, at a dinner party for their friends, Dr. and Mrs. Bradman. In order to gain an insight into the art of the occult for his next novel, the invitation is extended, much to the amusement of the four friends, to a locally known eccentric medium, Madame Arcati who, as part of the evening's entertainment, will, after dinner, conduct a seance. The seance (somewhat unexpectedly, even to Arcati) conjures up of the spirit of Elvira, Charles's first wife who died seven years earlier. Only visible to Charles, Elvira takes great pleasure in the power she has to cause confusion in his new marriage. Chaos ensues.
