Clàr presents a double bill of young artists taking contemporary and experimental approaches to Gàidhlig song and traditional instruments.
Iona Davidson will present her debut EP, Tog Do Ghuth, and the premiere screening of her music video supported through last year’s Clar Commission. Iona’s music takes the traditional songs she grew up with and fuses them with lush arrangements and istrumentation recorded at Wee Studio that ventures into lo-fi electronica. Isla Scott will accompany Iona on the night.
Harry Górski-Brown is an artist based in Glasgow, who works with mediums including electroacoustic music and audiovisual performances. His latest release, the hypnotic and expansive Durt Dronemaker After Dreamboats uses pipes, fiddle and electronics to re-imagine traditional Gàidhlig tunes and has seen him perform at festivals such as Glasgow’s Sonica and Unsound in Krakow.
Join us in the cafè bar afterwards for a festive party with sets from local DJs.
