Join corto.alto for an unforgettable night at Glasgow’s legendary Barrowland Ballroom, as part of the festival. Led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Liam Shortall, this mini festival line up will also feature an incredible bill of Scottish and UK talent. Including rising rapper Bemz , singer-songwriters Pippa Blundell and Becky Sikasa, and boundary-pushing trumpet player and producer JSphynx. Glasgow jazz-DJ legend Rebecca Vasmant will be keeping the night flowing with sets in between each act.
corto.alto is the project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Liam Shortall from Dumfries. Blending jazz with hip-hop, broken beat, electronica, dub, and punk, he creates a genre-defying sound. Recently shortlisted for the 2024 Mercury Prize, his music is dynamic and forward-thinking.
Bemz is a Nigerian-born Ayrshire artist making waves in Scotland’s rap scene. His EP Saint of Lost Causes is longlisted for the SAY Award, and he just played a sold-out show at Glasgow's Poetry Club.
Pippa Blundell is a Glasgow singer whose raw lyrics and layered harmonies blend classical, folk, and urban influences to create a soothing yet intense sound.
Becky Sikasa is a soul and indie-influenced singer-songwriter. Formerly in the duo Lunir, her solo work offers emotive, explorative off-pop tracks.
JSPHYNX (Johnny Woodham) is a trumpeter and UK dance music producer. He has performed with notable artists like Loyle Carner, Tom Misch, and Jordan Rakei.
