Detaljer

Join us this February for a series of creative craft sessions inspired by the fascinating history of The Black Watch. Each day brings a new opportunity to explore the museum’s stories and collections while making something unique to take home.

12th February: Map Making – The Black Watch Museum Archive contains many maps used by the British Army to navigate foreign terrain. In this craft session, we’ll discuss the use of maps and create our own map to take home. Use your imagination or detail the familiar landscape, it’s up to you!

13th February: Sweetheart Brooches – Sweetheart Brooches were historically given by soldiers to their girlfriends and wives before they left for active service. In this craft session we’ll look at Sweetheart Brooches from The Black Watch Museum Collection Store and use symbols from the history of The Black Watch to create our own badges.

14th February: Love Letters – Communication with home has been one of the most important aspects of life in the Army, especially for soldiers on deployment. Visit us to see some letters from The Black Watch Museum Archive and try your best to use a quill and ink on your very own aged paper.

These engaging sessions combine creativity with history, offering a memorable experience for kids and families alike! Don’t miss out—book your spot today!
