Flamenco with Lourdes Fernandez and Her Band ft Guest Dancer Jesús Olmedo at Jamboree

An intimate Sunday night of flamenco at Jamboree with ace dancer and director Lourdes Fernandez and her band, joined by special guest dancer Jesús Olmedo!

Tonight's special performance features two dancers Jesús Olmedo and Lourdes Fernandez, with Adrian Sola on guitar and Monica Garcia (vocals). Born of the colourful Arganzuela quarter of Madrid, Jesús Olmedo precocious talent and innate love for Spanish dance led him to commence studies at the Madrid Conservatoire aged just eight. He was soon selected to perform in the iconic production 'Homenaje a Madrid', choreographed by the famous Spanish dancer Marienma. Aged 11, he met his idol of the time, Joaquín Cortes, before, further inspired by the music of singer El Potito, he decided to study flamenco dance with maestro Rafael de Cordoba. Now an award-winning artist, Jesús has formed several acclaimed flamenco groups and performed at numerous prestigious venues, including the Royal Opera House in Bizet's Carmen. His talents have also taken him to Peru, America, the UAE, and China.

With minimal set-up and few instruments the spectator will witness the raw expression of the quartet, allowing for an intimate connection with the art. Expect a shimmering, dancing, handclapping feast and a virtuosic performance of this beautiful artform.
