The Getaway

The Getaway are a four piece post-punk tour de force originating from Jersey but now based in Brighton. Their songs focus on identity issues young people face with angry in your face lyrics and chaotic music supporting the song themes. They utilise the power of catchy bass riffs with punchy guitar rhythm and lead to create an intense and powerful atmosphere within their music. This is all the more evident in their live shows, which are known to be full of dancing, jumping and a lot of shouting. Taking influence from ska, northern soul and modernist attitudes they have created a unique sound within the post punk scen.
