Iain Ledingham's Grand Farewell Concert

As this will be Iain Ledinghams final concert as Artistic Director of the Festival, he has chosen three of his favourite works for the occasion, all of which have a strong pastoral flavour. Haydns Symphony No73 (La Chasse) ends with exhilarating hunting music with joyful fanfares for horns and trumpets. Gerald Finzis Romance for String Orchestra is a superb example of his pastoral style. The main work is the wonderful and much-loved Beethovens Pastoral Symphony.
