Detaljer

Come and join multi instrumentalist Ian F. Ball and a friend or two for an evening of folk music spanning 3 centuries. With music and songs to take you on a journey from the 18th century asylums of London, then via Oldham Parish Church to the 19th century lead mines of Derbyshire and the North East, through the rolling corn fields of rural England to the present day, with a slight detour to Victorian music hall and 1940s popular music.

Songs of love and loss, war, toil, farmers, forgers, singers, beer and unpronounceable Welsh villages there will be something for everyone. Ian is an accomplished guitarist, melodeon player, blues harmonica player, singer, actor and close-up magician based in Oldham near Manchester in the UK. His music is played far and wide and has been recorded by bands and musicians on both sides of the Atlantic. A ‘Building for the Future’ event.

Louis Armstrong said, “All music is folk music; I ain't never heard no horse sing a song
