Join Moonstone Theatre Company to help them solve a mystery, whilst enjoying a fabulous afternoon tea experience, held in Stage Left.
The annual cricket match between Lower Ashford and Willingham was always a great event. The rivalry between the two teams was legendary and, if the weather was good, the villagers came in out good numbers to watch. This year the weather was glorious and Lower Ashford had batted well. In the limited twenty over game, they had finished their innings at 143 for 5. After the tea interval it was Willingham’s turn to bat but in the second over their leading batsman collapsed and was taken into the cricket pavilion where, sadly, he was found to have died.
The Police were called and, subject to confirmation from the pathologist, early indications were that he had been poisoned.
Detective Chief Inspector Appleby was put in charge of the case and gathered his suspects at the Red Lion in the village to pursue his enquiries. Who had wanted the leading batsman dead? All the clues will be there to catch the killer but will be correctly deduced. Inspector Appleby calls on the other guests at the theatre to help him, determined to solve the case before the day is over.
