Detaljer

A series of four new paintings by Jules Allan are featured at KMA Gallery this month, alongside a number of her other stunning and rich paintings concerned with the human experience.

Hand picked by owner Kellie Miller for their intriguing and textured surfaces, Jules’ paintings remind us of the important connection between body and mind. A vessel for memories and experiences, our corporeal form shows the history of those things we often consider intangible.

The painting process is an important part of demonstrating the body-mind link for Jules. She stretches the limit of her canvases, by building up layers and scraping back, revealing new relationships between the colours underneath. Like the human process of growing and changing as we journey through life, her paintings capture this journey through texture, form and space.

Also on show are the richly textured paintings of David Hayward, mesmerising sculptures by Su Jameson and ceramics by Craig Underhill, among much more.

These artworks are on view curated across two floors at Kellie Miller Arts, 20 Market Street, Brighton.
