Plumhall And The Phil Langran Band

In a welcome return to the Poppy Folk Club, Plumhall and The Phil Langran Band feature in this double header concert. Plumhall (Michelle Plum and Nick B Hall) are critically-acclaimed songwriters whose mesmerizing blend of acoustic and electric instruments and exquisite vocal harmonies have wowed audiences worldwide. They have shared stages with legends such as Al Stewart, Larry Campbell, Steve Knightley and Phil Beer. Their eagerly awaited third album "One Star Awake" is due for international release on 7 June 2024. This year kicked off spectacularly for the duo as they completed a triumphant 30-date tour as special guests on the legendary Fairport Convention's Winter Tour, which saw Fairport join Plumhall onstage every night to perform the title song from their new album. The Phil Langran Band features Nottingham songwriter Phil, whose original songs are engaging, accessible and deeply poetic. His talented and versatiie band - Phil (vocals & acoustic guitar), Steve Benford (acoustic guitar, banjo, vocals), Mark Walker (bass, vocals), Frank McCarthy (electric guitar, vocals) and Alistair Bloomfield (fiddle) - create a uinique sound, interweaving elements of American, Celtic, folk and blues traditions. In performace they shift effortlessly from moving ballads to flat out traditional stomps and laid-back blues.
