Purcell,s “Dido an Aeneas”

Experience Purcell's timeless music performed by sublime soloists and Somerset Opera with the Taunton Sinfonietta beside the 4th century Low Ham mosaic. Marvel at this beautiful and ancient piece of narrative art – which depicts the tragic love story of Dido and Aeneas within the atmospheric surroundings of the Great Hall of the Museum of Somerset, Castle Green, Taunton TA1 4AA. starting at 7.30 pm on the 10th,11th and 12th of July. The Great Hall is on the flat with no steps in the hall and has wheel chair access with limited front row seating (Easy Access) On Friday 12th there will also be a limited number of Gala tickets for a glamorous drinks reception in the sumptuous surrounds of Taunton's famous Castle Hotel with guest speakers including Director of Dido and Aeneas Guido Martin Brandis, Musical Director Noah Mosely and Robin Carpenter of the Taunton Sinfonietta."
