Rag Rug Badges

Have a go at making your own rag rug badge! Rag rugging is an old British craft using recycled fabrics pushed in small pieces through hessian backing to create a shaggy or loop pile effect. Traditionally used to make rugs, it can be used to make wearable jewellery and art. This activity is aimed at children aged 6-11 but it would be an ideal opportunity for parents, grandparents or carers to share their love of heritage crafts with the younger generation and show them how its done!

All tools and fabric needed to complete this craft will be provided.

One ticket per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults do not need tickets. Please note this event will be held in our Education Room, which is located on the first floor of Bankfield Museum. Please contact museum.learning@calderdale.gov.uk to discuss any access needs.
