Rossini's Petite Messe Solonelle

Detaljer

Join Chorleywood Choral Society for an evening of sublime choral music, with Rossini's Petite Messe Solonelle as the concert centrepiece. The piece - Little Solemn Mass - was written in 1863, possibly at the request of Count Alexis Pillet-Will for his wife Louise, to whom it is dedicated. Rossini, who had retired from composing operas more than 30 years before, described it as "the last of my péchés de vieillesse" (sins of old age). The programme will be completed with complementary choral pieces. Soloists tbc Level access venue and nearby public car park. There is also a good selection of restaurants and cafes within a short walk of St Mary’s to complete your night out.
