Detaljer

This children’s author and broadcaster found huge success late in life, with memoirs about growing up on a farm in the Borders. These offer fascinating glimpses into early 20th century life, with vividly recounted tales and gentle humour. The very popularity of her work, much of it out of print today, may have obviated serious appraisal of her accomplished writing technique, and the darker side of her recollections – until now.

Adrian Ross

Adrian is a writer. He was press officer of a national museum, then a staff journalist in London and South Wales, before taking up management roles in the arts and education. He’s programmed events and activities across all artforms and taught many evening classes for Cardiff University. All lectures take place at The Smith, at 40 Albert Place, Stirling, on Wednesdays at 2pm (doors open 1:45pm)
