The Candlelight Club's Halloween Ball

No one liked a fancy-dress party more than the Jazz Age smart set—and what better excuse than Halloween? For spooky fun with a more elegant style, come and join our 1920s Halloween Ball in a long-forgotten south London ballroom, lit by candelabra and flickering jack-o-lanterns, where a host of ghostly flappers and gory gangsters, coquettish witches, black cat minxes and dapper devils, will frolic to the sounds of the Prohibition era.

Leading the revels will be Ghost With the Most, Champagne Charlie, with a demonic ditty and a cabaret swagger, introducing uncanny burlesque from that mystery of the East, Suri Sumatra. American songbird Elise Roth and her band the High Spirits will be proving the Devil has all the best tunes, while mellifluous witches the Bees Knees will be spinning platters by long-dead artists. There will also be a pop-up vintage jewellery store, a fortune teller and a sketch artist to capture you in your fiendish finery.

You can come just for drinks and dancing but you can also reserve a table with Champagne, or book the three-course dinner. There’s even an inclusive-drinks option. Ticket-holders receive an email two days before revealing the secret location (which is close to a tube station). So pull on your flapper dress and get ready to Charleston your way to the Witching Hour…
