All played through High Pressures 6 scoop custom built sound system. This night will be a celebration of The Rootsman's legacy, which spans 40 years within reggae sound system culture. We are very excited to bring you yet another legendary figure in u.k sound system scene. The Rootsman is a DJ and producer based in Bradford, UK. In 1985 he started selecting on local sound systems and a year later began to make a name on pirate radio. In 1991 he founded the legendary Dub Me Crazy club nights. In 1993 he started his label, Third Eye Music, and earned his reputation as a UK dub pioneer. He released numerous albums and singles, often collaborating with reggaes biggest names and crossing boundaries between musical genres including dub, electronica, jungle, raggamuffin, world music and heavy metal. The Rootsman has toured across the world and in 2016 he came out of a 10-year retirement to start producing new material alongside Inspirational Sound. Recently he has been collaborating on a new album with The Disciples. As a DJ he plays material from across his career as well as drawing on his arsenal of over a thousand exclusive Jamaican dubplate specials. The Rootsman has now announced his forthcoming retirement from music which will be at the end of 2025, marking 40 years in the world of reggae.
