Detaljer

The Whale's Tale is a new theatre show for family audiences about whales, coastal communities, and protecting the oceans we all rely on.

The show uses puppetry, original music and playful storytelling to call: all hands on deck for the ocean! Follow the stories of Grace, a little girl from a fishing village without any fish; one young whale searching for her mother in the big ocean; and a fishing crew waiting for a catch. Something connects them, but what?

The project is captained by theatre-maker Edie Edmundson with an experienced crew on hand. It has been developed with fishers from Brixham, children from Plymouth, whale scientists from Plymouth University, conservationists and activists who work around the UK protecting whales and the seas they live in.

This special evening performance will take place in the Eddystone Room at the Aquarium, where you will be joined by an audience of native fish species. There will also be a bar - it's going to be magical!

The show is accessible to Blind and Visually Impaired audiences, with Integrated Audio Description and a touch tour before the show for anyone who would find it useful. The touch tour is a chance to meet the puppets and characters from the show in advance, feel the textures, hear the sounds and voices, and get familiar with the set.

Show running time: 1hr approx Age recommendation: 5+

The touch tour will take place at 5:30pm, and last no more than 30 mins.
