The Second Studio album on Rough Trade Records, this time in conjunction with Columbia Records USA.
Produced by Scott Litt and Rolo McGinty the album includes alongside The Woodentops musicians, appearances by Bernie Worrell, Gary Lucas, Doug Wimbish, June Miles Kingston and a surprise visit from Lee Scratch Perry, It was he that inspired the album title.
The music is a technological dance between the computerised and the human, bolt tight and live performances locked in. Wheels Turning, Stop This car, Maybe It Won’t last or In A Dream, being classic examples. For many it was the entry point to the Woodentops as the band now played bigger venues and further afield, since the previous releases.
Stop This Car and Wheels Turning remixes hit the clubs in Europe and USA just at the beginnings of the balearic movement in UK, in which the band was included. You Make Me Feel was the radio single in Uk and USA, Wheels Turning became the European hit and MTV regular.
The artwork is another iconic hand made and photographed image, by regular artist Panni Bharti. The album has never been performed as a whole, some titles very rarely.
