Wedmore Festival Ensemble - A celebration of music!

Few ordinary English villages can boast of having a professional musician living in their midst, but, of course, Wedmore is far from ordinary and within the last four years not just one, but four professional music superstars have set up home here: Catherine Lord (violin); Elizabeth Anderson (‘cello); Hannah Kirk (soprano) and Margaret Marinkovic (piano). These acclaimed performers have become firm friends, joining in with village life and are delighted to present the debut performance of the Wedmore Festival Ensemble, a celebratory gala of classical music.

Catherine began her career playing concertos across the world with major symphony orchestras; Elizabeth was the longstanding cellist with the renowned Trio Zingara – you might have heard her on Radio 3. Hannah has performed across the UK, Europe and Australia in opera, oratorio and as a concert soloist. Margaret is a renowned pianist and vocal coach for many of the country’s leading opera companies. Their performance will include works by Schubert, Mendelssohn and Betty Roe.
