Marking the 400th anniversary of the death in Edinburgh of the Scottish Jacobean writer and artist Esther Inglis, daughter of Huguenot refugees: a programme of 16th and 17th century French and Scottish lute-songs alongside two 21st century compositions by in honour of Inglis - music by Paschal de L'Estocart, Claude Le Jeune, Guillaume Boni and Sheena Phillips, setting texts by Antoine de Chandieu and the Sieur de Pibrac, Elizabeth Melville and Margaret Cunningham, Esther Inglis and Gerda Stevenson. Performed by soprano Héloïse Bernard and lutenist Eric Thomas, and by the White Rose Ensembe (soprano Sally Carr, pianist Juliette Philogene and clarinettist Calum Robertson).
