Bannockburn House invites you to take a tour of this historic category A-listed property, which has survived largely unchanged since the 17th century. Purchased by Col. Alexander Wilson in the mid 19th century, it tells the story of the rise and fall of the tartan titans Wilson Weavers of Bannockburn. To celebrate our tartan connections this special tour will focus in on the mark the Wilsons left on the house and the surrounding community.

The story of the house does not end on the loom. The building boasts some of the most beautiful 17th century plasterwork ceilings outside the Palace of Holyrood. It played an important role in Scottish history and the life of Bonnie Prince Charlie, including the recently discovered assassination attempt.

After over 50 years of dormancy, the house and surrounding gardens were bought by the local community in December 2017 - with help from public donations and grants from organizations including Stirling Council and the Scottish Land Fund.
