A bitter-sweet comedy by Gordon Steel. Directed by Mike Crooks . PRESENTED BY MIDDLESBROUGH LITLE THEATRE LTD

Till death us do part…?

After a life of hard graft, retirement isn’t all that Albert Nobbs had expected. Instead of relaxing and taking things at a leisurely pace, the curmudgeonly Albert finds himself bored and nagged senseless by his wife Connie.

But Albert’s world is turned upside down when Connie dies in a road accident and he struggles to find a reason to carry on – until Connie returns as a ghost and sets about organising a fulfilling retirement for Albert!

How will Albert come to terms with the loss of the woman he loved and a possible new romance?

This bitter-sweet tale of love and hope comes from the pen of local playwright Gordon Steel, whose previous plays include Like a Virgin, Kissing Married Women and Dead Fish, all of which have been great hits with Middlesbrough audiences.

This Amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International on behalf of Josef Weinberger Ltd.
