An Evening of Wine Tasting - Classic Grape Varieties

Join experienced wine educator Brian Davis for an evening of wine tasting, focusing on classic grape varieties.

There are almost 3000 grape varieties world wide but the tasting will feature the 8 classic ones namely Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Riesling for whites and Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Pinot Noir for the reds. These grapes originated in France except for Riesling in Germany, but our tasting will feature these wines from other regions where they are grown. To make the tasting more interesting the wines will be tasted blind but with notes outlining the characteristics of each variety to enable the relevant taste profiles to be recognised. Hopefully a fun and informative evening will ensue.
