Andy Panayi Quintet plays Cannonball Adderley

UK sax player Andy Panayis appreciation of the music of Julian Cannonball Adderley goes back many years. Most of the music associated with Cannonball was written by his sidemen, especially his brotherNat, but Cannonball gave the group its distinctive sound.

Andy has written the arrangements for his quintet to be as close as possible to the original sound of Cannonball Adderleys band. Featuring post-bop tunes from a golden era of jazz, the quintet's repertoire includes tracks from several albums including The Cannonball Adderley Quintet in Chicago from 1960 and Bossa Nova from 1963.
