Aziza Brahim and The Tapi Project

Details

Voiced with deep passion and grace, Aziza Brahim’s music adeptly travels the expanse between her Western Saharan roots and Barcelona, where she now calls home. Born and raised in the Saharawi refugee camps lining the frontier between Algeria and Western Sahara, Aziza’s life has been marked by daunting hardship and inspired will.

Today, Aziza is a contemporary sonic poet and a prominent and eloquent spokesperson for the Saharawi people and their ongoing struggle for recognition and justice. The music she makes reflects both their sorrow and their hope.

Her fifth album, 2019’s Sahari, blends traditional and modern world music and has twice topped the World Music Charts Europe in 2019 and 2020.

The Tapi Project, hail from Surat, a city in Western India, and have a unique musical journey to boast of. Known for their genre fluid sound and remarkable stage performances, their music found immediate resonance with audiences worldwide, having performed a staggering 400 concerts across 30 countries
