Balaam and The Angelfirst emerged on the scene in 1983 and by 1984 had set up their own record labelChapter 22releasing three classic singles before signing a worldwide deal withVirgin Records. As a major label act the band released a number critically acclaimed albums (The Greatest Story Ever ToldandLive Free Or Die) and were included on the soundtrack ofJohn Candy/Steve MartinmoviePlanes, Trains And Automobiles. The band have toured consistently as headline act and as a guest to the likes ofThe Cult, Iggy Pop, Aerosmith, Kissand more recently by request ofThe Almighty.Such is the crossover diversity of appeal for the band.
