A guide-led short urban walk around the historic mill town of Belper in Derbyshire, the very first town of the Industrial Revolution. Led by a local guide with over 35 years experience of leading guided walks in the area, the walk looks at the history of the many varied industries that once gave employment to the town, most of which have now gone. Besides the generally-known industries such as cotton-spinning, the walk looks at the other lesser-known trades that could once have been found in the area. It even uncovers the town's big wartime secret, which is still not known by most in the town.
In addition to regular scheduled dates, this walk can also be booked privately on other dates if required. Due to limited numbers, online pre-booking is essential.
