Blood, Sweat and Vaginas written and performed by Paula David

A production by The Write Network in association with Ariya

Carolann’s awakening is sudden and all consuming. She stumbles out of her super woman bubble to discover a crumbling marriage, a teenage daughter with whom she can’t communicate, and an overwhelming job, all while peri-menopause has a grip on her body.

She discovers her sexuality is fluid and soul music is the language of her soul. Hypnotic melodies, searing honesty and humour will take you on a journey of self-discovery with Carolann. A moving play about menopause and female sexuality.

Paula David began her performance life as singer/songwriter and poet. She progressed to writing short sketches and writes mostly untold stories of black women. Her plays have so far either included a strong movement element or music as part of the narrative or both. She always creates an original sound track for each play.
