Bourne to laugh Comedy Night - Charity event

Details

Hats Funny Comedy return to the superb Thecentre@elseapark with another night of hilarious comedy. Following on from our opening night, that saw in excess of 100 people entertained by TikTok sensation President Obonjo, Hats Funny Comedy have put together another superb line up, as they look to help raise money for local charity "Bourne2Shine". Opening the show is the one of the fastest rising female acts in the country Alexis Roy. Shaft of wit dirty dozen winner 2023 and Beat the Blackout winner 2023, is an observational comic whose refreshingly unique slant on parenthood, marriage and increasingly awkward family encounters are told with a warmth that belies her real feelings. Enormously relatable Alexis is impressing audiences, her peers and promoters countrywide, and is seen as "one of the most exciting talents seen in years.. destined for bug things". Support acts will then make up the second section, in the shape of Fenland funnyman Josh Watmore, and Leicester Square Comedian of the Year 2023 Winner, New Forest Comedian of the Year 2023 Winner, and G&B Comedy All Stars 2023 Winner, SallyAnn Fellowes. Your headliner is Gerry K. Anecdotal, observational and refreshingly honest in style, Gerry’s comedy is enriched by a somewhat unique perspective: Real name Gerry Kyei (pronounced “Chay”), Gerry was born in the East End, but grew up in rural Essex, as a rare black face in an almost totally white and very parochial area (a million miles away from the traditional Essex stereotype towns like Harlow, Basildon, Romford and Southend). In addition to providing some truly original insights into life in rural England, these early experiences have ensured Gerry’s comedy delights an incredible range of audiences often confounds expectations. Starting in comedy as the result of a dare, his rise to headline act was a quick one, scooping a range of accolades along the way including; The Comedy Store’s ‘King Gong’, Metrolife Comedy Newcomer, and The Comedy Café’s Best Newcomer Awards. Now a regular and in-demand headline act both in the UK and overseas, Gerry has played all of the nation’s leading clubs including The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, Komedia. Looking after proceedings is MC Andy Gleeks. Having been on the circuit for four years now, Andy Gleeks has established himself as an act who delivers, firstly and foremost, as a 'natural MC' (Geoff Whiting), who 'effortlessly engages the audience...with 'warmth and charm' (House of Stand-up). He can be trusted to steer a night into, and through, funny waters each and every time, due to his 'cracking ad libs'
