Brian Kellock - By Request

For 2024, Scotland’s top swinging jazz pianist Brian Kellock is on the road with a new solo show. Brian Kellock – By Special Request will showcase the breadth of Brian’s repertoire, from the standards of “The Great American Songbook”, to songs associated with such legendary performers as Frank Sinatra and Burt Bacharach.

After some music chosen by Brian, audience members will be invited to nominate their own favourite numbers, and the entire second set will comprise these on-the-spot selected tunes.

Not only does the process of playing requests spotlight Brian’s gift for spontaneity and wit (and extensive musical memory); it also invites the audience in as participants, not just listeners. This new show guarantees a fun musical experience for everyone concerned.

Brian has successfully road-tested this format at private house concerts as well as at the 2024 Aberdeen Jazz Festival.
