Brian Kellock: By Special Request

Multi award-winning Brian Kellock has long been regarded as a national treasure on the Scottish music scene. One of the UK’s finest and most in-demand jazz pianists, he has won acclaim for his distinctive, swinging style of playing which has its roots in classic jazz but is always original, exciting and unpredictable. His mischievous sense of fun has also helped make him a favourite at festivals up and down the country.

For three decades, he has been the first-call pianist for visiting American jazz stars who appreciate his sensitive touch and the fact that his knowledge of “The Great American Songbook” is second to none.

This new solo show – his first solo appearance at Celtic Connections - celebrates that knowledge and his gift for spontaneity since the second half will consist entirely of on-the-spot requests from the audience.
