Details

Iconic works from the Tate collection turn the humble brick into the hero in a new display. Consisting of sculpture, photography and works on paper Brickworks shows the diverse ways that this material has been used to make art.

Shown in Liverpool, a city known for its iconic brick warehouses and the first red brick university, Brickworks is a small display showcasing the transformative power of bricks in art.

The display brings together artworks including Kader Attia’s “Untitled” (Concrete Blocks) 2008, Philip Guston’s The Street 1970, Tamas St Auby’s Czechoslovak Radio 1968 1969, 2008, Sarah Lucas’ NUD CYCLADIC 6 2010, Saloua Raouda Choucair’s Poem Wall 1963-5 and sketchbooks by Donald Rodney from 1982–98.
