Details
Second Time Around Folk Club, Beeston, offers its annual evening celebrating the life and works of Scottish bard, Robert Burns and Scots music and culture more generally. As well as local performers reciting or singing the works of Burns and playing other Scottish songs and tunes, we will serve a traditional 'Burns Supper' with haggis, neeps and tatties (vegetarian option available), with the haggis piped in in the traditional way (with bagpiper in full Highland dress). Scotch whiskey will be served as a 'gravy' for those who wish it.
Musicians: please bring your instruments and voices and give your name at the door if you wish to perform. If you are thinking of choosing a well-known song, please let organisers know in advance and check the list on the door on the night. Contact can be made vis our website www.folkbeeston.club (choose 'Contact' from the top menu).
Attendees are invited to bring their own liquid refreshment (there is no bar). Please bring your own glass. Tea or coffee will be available for a small donation.
Please note the venue: Middle Street Resource Centre. There is a small amount of parking on site or unrestricted parking on some nearby streets (please check). Buses (no. 36) and trams stop nearby/outside so please consider using public transport.
