Programme Haydn Quartet in G minor, Op. 20 No. 3 Mendelssohn Quartet No. 3 in D major, Op. 44 No. 1 Beethoven Quartet No. 13 in Bb major, Op. 130

We are thrilled to launch our 2025 season with the highly acclaimed Castalian Quartet, renowned for their captivating performances and dedication to sharing classical music with diverse audiences worldwide. They will perform three masterpieces from the chamber music repertoire. Haydn’s restless music from the ‘Sturm und Drang’ period, the third of his ‘Sun Quartets’ written in 1772, is followed by the exuberance and reflection of Mendelssohn’s D major quartet and the concert concludes with one of Beethoven’s final quartets, a majestic culmination of the composer's later works.
