Ceilidh for the Sheffield One World Choir

Details

A fund raising ceilidh for the Sheffield One World Choir, which came out of an idea to develop a choir for asylum seekers and refugees to come together with other local people to sing. Starting in 2018 with just a handful of singers, the choir has grown into a vibrant and welcoming community choir. 'Everyone in the choir finds it a fun and life enhancing experience. With people from many different countries we want our songs to reflect that rich cultural diversityso we encourage choir members to compose and suggest songs for us to learn. Members of the choir often refer to it as a family, where everyone feels welcome, saying how the choir lifts their spirits and how they love to perform.'

There will be ceilidh dancing to the music of the Well Dressed Band, and a bar and raffle (cash preferred). All dances will be called, and no experience necessary. Just come and have fun! Please bring food to share for a pot luck supper. You won't need to eat before you come. There is always plenty! Please note that doors open at 6.30 pm, and dancing will start at 7 pm.
