City of Cardiff Philharmonia - Mahler Symphony No 1 in aid of Velindre Hospital

A special event held in conjunction with Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra and City of Cardiff Symphony Orchestra in aid of Velindre Hospital. The huge brass fanfares and intoxicating percussion rhythms of Malcolm Arnold's Little Suite No 2 commence proceedings, followed by Grace Williams' ever popular Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes. John Williams' theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark concludes the first half. This epic concert will conclude with Gustav Mahler's ground-breaking Symphony No 1, scored for huge orchestra.
