Deborah Rose and Mair Thomas in concert

An evening of sublime and remarkable folk voices and virtuosity. Deborah Rose is a Welsh singer/songwriter whose emotive, timeless voice has been described by folk legend Judy Collins as “one of the finest I’ve heard”. Deborah was born in Newport, South Wales before moving to Worcestershire. Deborah’s love of song and poetry combined has guided her compositions. Mair Thomas was brought up in Montgomeryshire in a musical family, where she grew up in the chapel and eisteddfod tradition. She sings both in English and Welsh, and has a special interest in traditional Welsh songs. Winner of the Shropshire Singer Songwriter competition at Shrewsbury’s Buttermarket, Mair has also appeared at the Llangollen Eisteddfod in 2014 and 2017, the Llangollen’s Women’s Festival, and the Llangollen Fringe Acoustica.
