The story of Dick Whittington and his feline friend is one of the classic pantomime stories, however this version is updated by local writer Philip Marshall Junior.
Dick travels with his best friend and brother to find his fortune overseas in Morocco. However, the dastardly wicked Queen Rat, is also doing the same and will not let anyone get in her way. She employs two rather dimwitted crooks to help her get one over on Dick. Along the way we meet interesting characters like Dame Hootenanny, the rather rambunctious school teacher and the evil cave monster, who isn’t all that they seem.
This pantomime is filled with adventure, romance, hijinks, terrible dad jokes, popular music, and so much more that you would expect from a traditional pantomime. And if you aren’t sold on this show already, we also have the amazing talents of Studio 2000 joining us on stage, providing their excellent dance ability.
Please Note: The Sunday 11:00 am performance is a Relaxed Performance. A relaxed performance creates a more casual environment in the auditorium, relaxing traditional theatre 'rules.' These events cater especially well to individuals with learning disabilities or autism, as well as anyone who benefits from a more supportive setting.
BSL (British Sign Language) is used during the Sunday 11:00 am performance.
