Doctor Coppelius

Everyone knows the story of the doll Coppelia, and of Franz who believed her to be real, and of Swanhilda who loved Franz. But few speak of the doll’s creator, Doctor Coppelius. Now, he grants you an audience, with his tale of the sinister Wandering People, a woman named Clara. In a tale of dehumanisation and humanity, scaremongering and understanding, revenge and forgiveness, despair and hope, it is time for the tragic villain from the Delibes’s ballet to give his side of the story.
