Earthcycle with Orchestra of the Swan

Details

Vivaldi’s Four Seasons for the 21st Century

Join the ever-inventive Orchestra of the Swan, following the sold out run of Red Sky at Sunrise, for a multi-sensory, musical journey. Earthcycle celebrates nature and our place within it, whilst highlighting 21st century’s concern with climate change.

Orchestra of the Swan presents an immersive experience with movements from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons performed alongside contrasting works that reflect seasonal change – seamlessly blending classical, jazz and folk, performed by leading folk singer Jackie Oates, with violin, cello, bass, percussion and jazz pianist David Gordon.

David Le Page, Artistic Director for Orchestra of the Swan says: “Earthcycle focuses on the miracle of nature, its preservation, and the idea that if there is enough will to do so, we can mitigate disaster. Art is adept at representing the world as it is and, most usefully, keeping conversations going. It is also the role of Art, I think, to express hope, to challenge complacency, to educate, to dream, to convey the beauty of what we already have, and, above all, to urge us not to take anything for granted.”
