Educating Rita

She is a hairdresser aspiring to a literary education to escape the drudgery of her class; he is a disillusioned university lecturer taking evening tuition for cash. Over the course of a year each learns more than they could have guessed from the other, and both their lives are changed irrevocably. One of Willy Russell's most famous plays, with echoes of My Fair Lady, tapping into his own experience both as hairdresser and teacher.
