"Educating Rita" in association with Magpie Drama

Willy Russell's stage play and film (starring Michael Caine and Julie Walters) brought to the Assembly Rooms by the award winning Magpie Drama. the play follows the relationship between a 26 year old working class Liverpudlian hairdresser and a middle-aged University lecturer over the course of one year. 'Rita' dissatisfied with her work and social life signs up for an Open University course in English Literature and meets Frank, an alcoholic career academic and her lecturer.
